I provide you the ability to rapidly setup and integrate C&P into your operations.  This is achieved by using my knowledge of the C&P software and experience of working in advertising and Design combined with directly managing the integration of C&P in more than 50 firms.   Furthermore, I provide consulting on best practices and recommend data configurations that have proven to be successful in real world situations.

C&P focuses on one industry, has a proven track record with installations at over 2500 sites, has an intuitive interface that users readily adopt, has a superior well staffed and knowledgeable San Diego area based live support that are not demeaning and who do not simply suggest to reinstall the software or your computers OS.   I have personally witnessed multiple times agencies who discovered tens of thousands of dollars in unbilled project fees or estimates that were legitimately billable while converting to C&P, or just by reviewing C&P Job Progress reports.

C&P offer a commercial software alternative to custom development that is flexible to fit into your operational style.  Once you purchase C&P* you own the software.   There are no rental or lease fees, no requirement to pay annual fees, beyond he first year of support, and the concurrent user licensing is more flexible and cost effective than competitors products.  I have clients that are still using C&P version 5, that was released in 2003.    The desktop version of C&P has a built in web based time card that allows staff to enter time with a web browser.  There is also an add on Web based sofware that extend 75% of the C&P functionality of C&P to a web browser.   It’s also a flat fee to purchase, it responds quickly, and functions as if you were working on the desktop version within the limitations of HTML and a web browser.  Furthermore, you can also easily convert your C&P data and host using MYSQL, if you require an SQL based database server.

HISTORY:
As the Controller of a growing interactive ad agency in 2003. I found myself using Quickbooks, Excel, and FileMaker to manage the finances.   The production and creative managers used post it notes and email to track projects.   This all somehow worked when our staff was small and we could shout to the office next door.  However, as we grew and the staff reached 15, it started to become unmanageable.  I found myself updating Excel lists over and over again by manually gathering information from multiple sources to determine what had not been billed, what was left to bill, and what the projected job and overhead costs were.   I began reviewing different systems and found C&P to be the best choice, because it was specifically designed for what I was doing, using multiple systems.  C&P had a intuitive, well designed interface, and as a software developer and trainer I knew that the staff would adopt it’s use. 

When I founded integral circuits I contacted the founder and lead developer of Clients & Profits, Mark Robillard.  I asked if he would be willing to start a independent consultant program, which he did, and I became the first C&P consultant.  Since then I have worked closely with Mark to review new releases and offer input on new features and program design.

My Process:
  • Understand the current company processes for accounting, project management, and communication.

  • Recommend a C&P version and user by user access via desktop application or via the C&P web server (My C&P).

  • Provide consulting to IT staff in installing C&P.

  • Recommend an action plan for converting the processes to C&P.

  • Identify key management and administrative staff that will be responsible for C&P functions and insuring that staff are using C&P correctly.

  • Provide initial training for the key staff so they gain an understanding of C&P.  Consult with the key staff to help understand how processes will change.

  • Work with the person(s) responsible for setup and ongoing maintenance of C&P to teach them how to configure C&P.  For example, configuring user privileges, adding a chart of accounts, correctly adding a task table (line items).

  • Specify the setup of items that are required, items that will be useful as the company grows, and items that do not pertain to the needs of the company.

  • If requested I can import some information from current software, (requires conversion to add additional data fields per record).  I also provide data entry services for setup and conversion of current job and accounting data.

  • Provide training to the company staff on C&P for the functions they will use.  For example, Account Executives are trained on the job ticket, opening jobs, estimating, basic job traffic, scheduling, time entry and running reports on the jobs they are managing.  Each training is customized to the requirements of the company and the staff function requirements.

  • Consult on converting the current job and accounting data into C&P in order to go live.  This  can be done in stages.

  • Follow up with additional training of functionality that more efficiently manages workflow.  For example, integrated email, the asset manager, and approvals.

  • Traffic & Production Management:  I am a natural project manager and an avid list maker.  I have managed film projects, catering for hundreds of guests and worked with numerous traffic and managers, project managers and account managers, learning additional skills and styles from each person along the way.   Many managers create a timeline in Microsoft Project, but you need to go beyond this and use a system that allows you to interactively assign tasks, alert them when they are exceeding allocated hours, and reschedule and reassign tasks based on project workflows.   Included in my training are recomendations for task setup and implementation strategies
