The FMBooks Connector plug in for FileMaker® Pro allows data to be shared between FileMaker and QuickBooks® utilizing an active connection between the two software programs. This is useful when you have a FileMaker solution, that includes project tracking, order entry, or donation tracking, that requires that transactions be posted to QuickBooks. FileMaker can be programmed to query the QuickBooks client and vendor lists, and populate a list in FileMaker. New Clients and Vendors can be added in FileMaker and simultaneously added to QuickBooks. Individual transactions, can then be posted to QuickBooks individually or through batch processing. The solutions I have developed include pre-posting error checking, that alerts the user to required data for QuickBooks. As transactions are posted, QuickBooks returns a transaction ID to FileMaker. This also allows the user to go directly to that transaction in QuickBooks by clicking a button in the FileMaker solution. Requirements: -The FileMaker solution must have data fields that match QuickBooks data fields. -The FileMaker solution will have to be customized to allow transactions to be set up and to be posted to QuickBooks. -Windows version of QuickBooks and FileMakerPro, (FileMaker solution can be hosted on a Mac). -A licensed copy of the FMBooks Connector for each PC that will utilize these features. |
